BBFPD adds FF/Paramedics

Bodega Bay Fire adds one FF/Paramedic to each shift (3 personnel).

As you might have read in the Press Democrat or maybe you attended the Sonoma County Board of Supervisors meeting on March 19, the Bodega Bay Fire Protection District and many other fire agencies received funding for service level enhancements. Beginning in April, Bodega Bay Fire will add one more Firefighter/Paramedic to daily staffing. This will allow us to keep one firefighter/paramedic in the fire district while the ambulance is transporting to hospitals in Santa Rosa or Petaluma.  We are thankful for the efforts of so many for this increase in safety and service to Bodega Bay and the surrounding areas, esp. Supervisor Hopkins, who managed to stay engaged while facing many challenges.

Your paramedics saved my husband\'s life on December 8. They used the paddles on him three times, they would not let him go. The nurses at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital call him a miracle and they attribute it to the paramedics. Thank you for tickly to Kristin who explained everything to us at the hospital and gave us some hope to hang onto for his survival. He is alive and well and coming home tomorrow!
